The Giver

I've been taking a look at my relationships with all of my friends lately. I have found that I am deffinatley the giver of our group, and I seem to be getting stepped on by most of my "friends". I drive everywhere and I rarely ask for gas money, I buy them food or things they want if its pretty inexpensive and I can afford it. I never spend the money on myself, it's always about making someone else happy. I don't know what I'm going to do about this, I feel as though I should really sit down and talk with a few of my friends about this but I'm not sure what they would say.
Any suggestions?
Working tonight, Publix 4-7.

Busted!

So as I said in my last blog, I went to the state fair yesterday and I went with a few of my friends. They, of course, put me on every ride there. After about 4 rides my stomach wasn't feeling so good and I told them I needed to take a break. I looked at the next ride they were going on and it didn't seem so bad, but when we went on it it just threw me over the edge. I should have taken that break, but I didn't, and I threw up right after I got off the ride. But luckily there was a lady standing right there to capture my weak moment by taking a picture of me puking. I didn't know she was doing it until someone told me so I ran back to her and said "Could I get a copy of that"? She just kind of looked at me in shock. What a...yeah.
So my dumb self bought a water, thought I felt better, and went on the next ride. HAH! As soon as I got off the ride I knew it wasn't staying down. I puked two more times and that was it for me for a while. My friends rode about 4 more rides and then we decided to eat something at about 9:30. I had an Italian sausage with peppers and onions and a mountian dew. Yumm.
I felt a lot better after that and was able to go on a couple more rides, I knew the ones I couldn't do and I could tell if I was going to start feeling bad again but I didn't and everything was okay. On our way out I spotted two of our friends from school and they couldn't find their truck so I said I'd help them look. After driving all around the state fairgrounds I couldn't find it so I just had them get out because I was going to be late for my curfew. I called my mom and she pretty much already said I was grounded.
I hauled butt on the way home! I dropped off my friend Oscar and we made it home only 10 minutes late. 10 minutes, 10 days of being grounded. Busted!
This morning however I found a note saying I wasn't going to get grounded because I kept in touch with my mom and let her know everything that was going on. Also, I could have lied or something and said there was an accident but I told the truth the whole time.
Pretty eventful night I'd say.

Floirda State Fair

So I'm sitting at The Ledger from 10 to 2 today just waiting to get off work so I can go to the state fair. I love the fair! I'm going with my best friend Deveraux and our friend Oscar. I'm going to ride all the rides and eat lots of fair food. I think I deserve it, I finished my FAFSA this weekend and I'm going to do another scholarship tomorrow since there is no school!

Last night we made shishkabobs at Mrs. Wendy's house, MY idea. They were amazing!

Take Two

So, I've been reading Amy's blogs and I wish I sat down and took the time to write mine out. I never have anything very exciting to talk about, and I'm usually busy working, hence the name of this blog. I hold two jobs at the moment and working on getting a third. I work at my local grocery store, Publix. It has been on Fortune Magazine's Top 100 Best Places to work for 11 years in a row. However, I don't think they were talking about the store I'm working at. They only gave me 13 and a half hours this week. I have bills, I'm working to pay off my car before August and I still owe $2,000 on it. My second job is writing the Obituaries for our local newspaper, The Ledger. It's owned by the New York Times and I've met a lot of people that could help me further my career in journalism. My third job I am trying to get, which of course I will have to quit somewhere else, is at the Lakeland Regional Medical Center, one of the best hospitals in the United States. My best friend Deveraux works there as a food service host. She takes the patients orders, goes and gets the food, and brings it to them for $10.64 and hour! She also gets 30 hours a week and one whole weekend off a month. Sounds good to me!

I've been accepted to attend Florida Atlantic University in the fall of 2008 to study journalism. I plan to move into a dorm and continue working my butt off to pay for my college education. I have learned that when I have kids I will be starting a savings account for them and their senior year in high school. With graduation, a class ring, applications, prom, and any other expenses that come their way they should be prepared. I am also going to work hard to save up enough for a good down payment on a nice used car for when they turn 16. It's hard having the bills and not the hours to pay for the things you need. I will of course make them get a job and pay for everythig they owe like insuance, gas, and a car payment if needed. I'm just thinking into the future.

This is my blog and my life at the moment.
GO OWLS!
